Thanks to the magic of the Alexa app thingama (Christmas got weird at my house), I can now ask the innernets to provide ‘Jeopardy’ questions, turn the lights on and off and even play music.  That allowed me to introduce my kid to the greatest theme song of all, the orchestrated open to ‘Battle Of The Planets.’  Structurally similar to the Superfriends theme, it adds layered brass and woodwinds and truly killer climactic chords to provide a goosebump-inducing cartoon open, leading us to today’s orchestral query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) doesn’t believe that even the combined brain power of the Faithful Spoilerites can overcome the BOTP music, asking: Which tune is the GREATEST theme song in history?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

Oh my god, so hard to choose. We got “Touch” from Transformers, MacGyver theme, Miami Vice theme and all John Willams themes from 70¨s and 80’s as competitors, at least.
