1) BLUNTMAN AND CHRONIC
In Kevin Smith’s shared View Askewniverse, Bluntman And Chronic are the superhero creations of Banky Edwards and Holden McNeil, as seen in ‘Chasing Amy.’ Later optioned for a big-budget film adaptation, the heroes become the driving force of the plot of ‘Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back’, being played by James Van Der Beek and the kid from ‘American Pie.’ A few B&C stories have since made their way into comics, mostly drawn by Mike Allred of Madman fame, which makes them more than worth your time to track down…

Good list! When I saw the topic, the Brown Hornet was the first thing to pop into my mind.
One fun also-ran that just popped into my head:
Captain Avenger – the character played by John Ritter’s character in the 1980 film Hero At Large. The story is about an actor playing a hero who stops a robbery in real life while wearing his hero costume, and all the things that fall out from that.
