For a while, my daughter was totally into princesses.  Of course, being my daughter, her imaginary princesses often had armor, giant robots and armored tiger guards to trample down her enemies and those who would threaten her domain.  Of late, she’s more into Instagramming stuff and singing ‘Hamilton’ songs under her breath, but the aftermath of that princessery is still around, including a couple of discussions about who the best princess of all might be, which leads us to today’s regal query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) enjoys Princess Robot Bubblegum on occasion, but will usually lean towards Wonder Woman, asking: Who is the Best Princess in all of fiction?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture!

And a nice red uniform.

Probably Peach from Super Mario. She started as a hostage of King Koopa, but has since then starred her own games and risen to equal status with Mario & Luigi.

Princess Leia, in both canon proper and the “Legends” stories alike.

Princess Powerful from Marvel’s Runaways. She wore a pussy hat before it was cool.
