4) CAPTAIN AMERICA (Isaiah Bradley)
I’m not a big fan of most of the circa-2000 Jemas-era Marvel books, as they sought to provoke and create buzz more than they focused on telling a story, but the revelation/retcon that the Super Soldier Serum was tested on others before Steve Rogers is not only an interesting story point but a well-written story as well. Though the ending is depressing (it’s a clear metaphor for the real-world Tuskegee Syphilis Studies of World War II, which makes for a dark undercurrent to the story), the execution is quite impressive, especially when Luke Cage and the other black Avengers speak of Isaiah in awe while Wolverine has no idea who he is or what he represents…

No Bucky/Winter Soldier run of Cap? Was this due to it being too dark of a run of Cap?
