5) MERCURY


Another example of gods of myth just strolling down to Earth during the Second World War, Mercury didn’t stick around for long, and his place was taken by others speedsters.  Years later, his existence was retconned away, instead attributing both Mercury and another super-speedster, Hurricane, as alter-egos of the Inhuman Makkari, who took multiple costumed identities to hang out with the humans he was fascinated by.  But back in the day?  He was the real deal!

  1. I was so hoping to see DC’s Vext on this list. I didn’t read it when it first because I was in a super serious mood in high school but I found and read it last year. Really fun!
