If you were wondering what Margot Robbie had in mind for her stand alone Harley Quinn movie, wonder no longer as the actress, and director David Ayer have announced we can look forward to Gotham City Sirens.
Launched in 2009 by Paul Dini and Guillem March, Gotham City Sirens follows the adventures of Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harely Quinn, as they protect one another while still doing the bad things criminals do. While it would be great to see Paul Dini involved in the project, Variety reports that Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who wrote scripts for Tomb Raider and Sherlock Holmes 3, has been tapped to pen the Gotham City Sirens adventures. And even though we know the title of the project, we don’t know for sure that Catwoman and Poison Ivy will appear in the movie.
Though Suicide Squad wasn’t as well received by audiences as Warner Bros. had hoped, it still made $745 million worldwide against a $175 million budget, making a sequel a guarantee. David Ayer is directing and producing the project with Margot Robbie serving as executive producer.
