Marvel Studios has announced Angela Bassett will join the upcoming Marvel’s Black Panther movie to play T’Challa’s mother.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (“Fruitvale Station,” “Creed”), “Black Panther” stars Chadwick Boseman in the title role alongside Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba. The film arrives in theaters on February 16, 2018.

With this announcement, I’m really liking the direction Marvel Studios is taking with this movie. I will definitely be in line on opening weekend to see this movie when it finally arrives in 2018.
