“Always Five…  Acting as one!”  So went the tagline for ‘Battle Of The Planets,’ known to many young’ns of the 1970s as “The G-Force Show.”  As the original Sentai-type team, the kids of Gatchaman (whose names vary depending on your favorite version) had their teamwork down, but are they the most united team of all?  Could their Whirlwind Pyramid outmaneuver the New X-Men?  Or overpower the original Justice League Of America, whether Cyborg or Martian Manhunter?  The mind literally boggles with the possibilities, but one thing is sure, there’s a lot to consider in today’s unified query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would have voted for the Fantastic Four, but…  Now I’m just sad, asking: Which ensemble cast, super or otherwise, is the MOST united team of all in your mind?

There are several that come to mind, but I’ll go with JSA. Quote goes: “Justice League is a strike team but Justice Society is a family.”

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture!

And a nice red uniform.
