With the new Godzilla movie about to release in Japan, man in a rubber monster suit is at an all time high. This is probably why Toho plans to make a Godzilla animated movie.

Though Toho has produced animated television series before, this marks the first time the Tokyo-based studio has produced a full-length animated movie.

“We’re aiming to make a big-scale animation entertainment that people who love Godzilla and people who know nothing about him can both enjoy,” said co-director Kobun Shizuno in a prepared statement.

The Godzilla animated movie is set to arrive in theaters in 2017.
