If you haven’t watched Stranger Things, you really should do it as soon as possible. When you do, you’ll instantly be taken back to the halcyon days of the ’70s and ’80s as you recognize the nods to the classics the Duffer Brothers are inserting into this Netflix series.  If you are still a bit clueless after all is said and done, check out this video by Ulysse Thevenon who compares shots from Stranger Days with the movie classics.

References to 70-80's movies in Stranger Things from Ulysse Thevenon on Vimeo.

This isn’t just some thing that Ulysse came up with, anyone savvy in ’80s films will have recognized all of these visual references on the first viewing.

I was going to say, I figured you guys would be all over this. I have horror/jumpscare movies and TV, but I really did enjoy the show

It is really good. I’ve recommended it to several people, but there’s always that one hipster that thinks anything that is cool isn’t worth checking out. Sad really.
