Today’s Major Spoilers VIP Live Chat got me to thinking, mostly about whether or not my hair is gonna look okay, but also about the nature of fan interactions.  Stewie Griffin found out the hard way that it’s not always easy to meet your pop-culture friends in real life (although, to be honest, I think we can blame Wil Wheaton for that), a phenomenon known in fiction as ‘The Rupert Pupkin’ effect.  As much as I’d enjoy sitting down with the cast of ‘Taxi’ or the creative team behind ‘Watchmen,’ I think I might have more fun with the characters of Taxi or Watchmen, leading to today’s interactive query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) wouldn’t mind meeting with the 80s-era Legion of Super-Heroes, to prove my theory that Sun Boy has a Malibu accent, asking: Which ensemble of characters (real or fictional) would you most enjoy having a VIP visit with?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture!

And a nice red uniform.

A NYC pub crawl with Ted, Marshall, Barney, Lily, Robin and Traci. Ranjit behind the wheel. Slutty Pumpkin optional.

I’d prefer a pub night with X-Men (mostly Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Colossus) reinforced with Tony Stark to get us free drinks.
