This week’s Poll Of The Week started me thinking about Superman’s greatest non-cyborg foe, the cueball genius jerkwad known as Lex Luthor. (POOOOLLLLL!) Where the Poll wanted your feedback on the best Luthor, my thoughts were about which Lex is the WORST Luthor. Certainly, any of the live-action portrayals have their moments, returning from the dead, chewing scenery, wooing Lana and so on. I don’t usually like to go negative, but I am honestly curious which of the various storytelling sins you, the Faithful Spoilerites, consider to be the most egregious, leading us to today’s 40-cakes-and-that’s-terrible query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) hesitates to take potshots at Gene Hackman because of his status as a legendary actor, but didn’t care for his cartoonish portrayal asking: Which Luthor is the worst Luthor?

The one that stole forty cakes!
40 cakes? That’s as many as 4 10’s! And that is terrible!
First post nails it, as it often does! I need to pick some other one so I have to pick the one from Batman v Superman. My problem is that he’s not Luthor but Riddler or toned down Joker.
Scott James Wells from the Superboy TV series.
I know it is easy pickings at the moment, but Eisenberg was a wreck. i never felt any threat from him, he was just a weirdo that did… something. What was his point again in that movie? I honestly can’t remember.
Beyond that, they all had their bright points.
John Cryer as the “Dutch Elms Disease” of the Luthor family tree in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
