Jake Riley hails from a crapsack world where most superheroes are clinically insane, referred to as ‘psychos.’ As part of the agency tasked with monitoring such activities, Jake found himself disavowed and nearly assassinated, undergoing the procedure to become a super-psycho himself. Interestingly, his movie namesake, Norman Bates, was inspired by stories of real murderer Ed Gein, who also inspired the aforementioned Leatherface as well as Buffalo Bill from ‘The Silence Of The Lambs.’ Speaking of ‘The Silence Of The Lambs…’

I think you mean 1986’s Manhunter, not Red Dragon. Red Dragon was the loose re-adaptation of Manhunter from 2002.
