Nothing beats the satisfying crunch of an apple. Oranges are too high maintenance. You either have to peel them, or cut them into the ever popular “smile”. Give me an apple any day of the week as a grab and go snack.

It really depends. What variety of fruit are we talking about? Honeycrisps are really good; Delicious apples are dreadful. How big are they? How messy? If oranges, how hard to peel? Are they blood oranges, or Cara Cara’s? Those are really tasty. Are they properly ripe? What time of year is it? Which is in season?

    Besides, I actually prefer pomegranates.

I find apples more varied in their use than oranges. Close, but cooking with apples seem to offer more selection than oranges. and what is more comforting than a warm slice of apple pie?

AS a sub poll. do you prefer Ice cream on your apple pie? ot Sharp Cheddar cheese(My preference)?

Apples. As a New England native, I associate apples with the fabulous fall season, which includes treats such as caramel apples, hot apple cider, crispy apple donuts, and of course, warm apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream!

There’s a reason nobody ever asks for orange pie.

Oranges. Fresh apples are too sour for me and start to tickle in my mouth. slight allergy, I think. Apple pie or juice is fine but I’m ranking plain fruits.

Oranges all the way. Number one, oranges not only taste delicious, but once your done, the peels can be disposed of using a garbage disposal to present a fresh citus smell. Apples leave you with a stinking rotting core that reeks of corruption within minutes of exposure. Number two, taste better. How do I know? They named a color after it. Apples have no color cred. Number three, oranges like people. Vitamin C cures all illnesses plus gunshot wounds. Apples contain trace amounts of cyanide. Fact: apples are trying to kill you. Number four, oranges are better for you spiritually. Put an orange slice in your mouth you have an instant sunny smile. Adam and Eve put an apple in their mouth and doomed mankind. Fact: apples are the devil’s second favorite fruit.

I very much prefer citrus flavors. Apples are okay, just a bit low on my favorite fruits list.

As a whole fruit, I’ll take an apple every time. But as a fresh juice or even a candy flavor, orange all the way.

My Florida bias coming out for sure. But nothing beats the amazing fresh orange. Make it into a juice, eat it, carry it to school with no bag. Lasts longer than an apple. Also better for you.

Although I love them both, apples feature more heavily in my diet year round. They are more versatile in both sweet and savory dishes. They can be eaten cooked, raw, shredded, diced, peeled or not…. can easily be made in alcohol. So often when I do get oranges, half the lot are wooden or overripe before I get a chance to eat them (of course they don’t grow well in Canada this may be a shipping issue)
