JON: This is it – two Supermen (Supermans?) enter, but how many come out? This is the last issue before Action Comics reverts to it’s original numbering and will give us a clearer picture of what we can expect from the big blue boyscout heading into Rebirth.
ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT AVENGERS #9
Writer: Mark Waid

Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: New Story Starts NOW!
Introducing the all-new Wasp! Who is she? What is she? And what does she intend to do about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?
JON: We got a tease of the new Wasp on Free Comic Book Day but now, we’ll get the whole, tiny-sized package. This is the start of a new arc so it’s a great jumping-on point for anyone who enjoys Mark Waid’s work and is curious about the status quo of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
ALL NEW X-MEN #9
Writer: Dennis Hopeless
Artist: Mark Bagley
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: “APOCALYPSE WARS” CONTINUES! The ALL-NEW X-MEN’s entry into “APOCALYPSE WARS” starts here! The ALL-NEW X-MEN are on a mission to step out of the shadows of their predecessors and write their own futures. And none are more determined to forge their own way than Evan Sabahnur, who is allegedly destined to one day become the genocidal villain APOCALYPSE. But now, by way of an unintentional intervention by his teammate Beast, Evan is brought face-to-face with Apocalypse himself…and also brought face-to-face with the question he’s been running from: Can you escape your destiny?
ROB: With the start of the Apocalypse Wars, this book has the most interesting character for the story, the clone of Apocalypse himself. And with Cyclops out for awhile and Beast’s new found respect for Magic this book is getting very interesting.
BATMAN #52
Writer: James Tynion IV
Artist: Rafael Albuquerque
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Echoes from Batman’s past ripple out into Gotham City’s future…
JON: After witnessing the end of an era from Snyder and Capullo, I’m not sure what to expect from James Tynion IV. He’s got a pretty big cowl to fill for this issue but challenges breed creativity, so I’m excited to see what he can dish out.
WAYNE: Mr. Tynion is a great choice to help wrap up this New 52 run of Batman, and the cover helps, too! I’m in!
BATMAN TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #6

Artist: Freddie Williams
Publisher: DC Comics

SOLICITATION: The crossover event of the year comes to its thrilling conclusion. The Turtles have one last, desperate shot at going home. But will they take it, knowing what nefarious plans Shredder has for Gotham City? It’s full-on ninja warfare as our heroes go up against the combined forces of the Foot Clan and the League of Assassins. Co-published with IDW.
WAYNE: Yet another Mr. Tynion Batman story! Looking forward to this wrapping up, then seeing what this writer has in store for Detective! Should be fun!

WAYNE: The first issue was pretty intriguing, so I’m looking forward to this second chapter. Mr. Fawkes is good at supernatural-style storytelling, so I’m fascinated to see what he has in mind for this book!

The Metal Men face off against a threat who might make them lose their breath and their chance for escape! Meanwhile, General Scaletti begins her own plan to capture the Metal Men!
CHRIS: I was shocked by how good this book is and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Anthologies are tricky to nail but so far this is hitting all the right beats. There isn’t a story I’m not enjoying at least a little and all the artwork looks great. $7.99 is a bit tough on the wallet but you’re certainly getting your money’s worth.
DONALD DUCK #13
Writer: Lars Jensen, Dick Kinney
Artist: Flemming Andersen, Al Hubbard
Publisher: IDW
Cover Price: 3.99
SOLICITATION: “Goosebusters!” When lucky cousin Gladstone acquires a haunted English castle, will Donald exorcise the ghosts inside—or sneakily team up with them?

THE FIX #2
Writer: Nick Spencer
Artist: Steve Lieber
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Mac is injured in the line of duty and Roy seeks the help of another detective with a tough case.
CHRIS: This book is laugh out loud funny! It’s the mature reader version of Superior Foes of Spider-Man, which makes sense since both Spencer and Lieber did that title. It’s another hilarious story of some horrible people who are plain losers and idiots but like Superior Foes, Spencer makes them a tad loveable. Definitely pick of the week!
GRIZZLY SHARK #2 (OF 3) GRIZZLY SHARK RETURNS
Writer: Ryan Ottley
Artist: Ryan Ottley
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the forest…
CHRIS: Hell yeah he returns! And I’m gonna enjoy every page of it! How could you not want to read this?

RODRIGO: The massive is one of those series I’ve always been interested in, but never really picked up. This seems like a good opportunity.
SATELLITE FALLING #1

SOLICITATION: A lone human survived the death of the one she loved, and escaped a
corrupt Earth. She now makes her way as a bounty hunter, on a satellite

RODRIGO: This looks good. Art looks good. Story looks good. Good, good, good. There’s a walrus monster, it looks good.
TMNT ONGOING #58

ROB: Leatherhead’s true colors have been shown, and now the Turtle’s get to deal with him. Getting to know the different Utrom should also be interesting.
VENOM SPACE KNIGHT #7
Writer: Robbie Thompson
Artist: Ariel Olivetti
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: THE HUNT FOR BLACK OCTOBER STARTS NOW! Venom’s made a solid go as newly-recruited Agent of the Cosmos, aiding the hopeless and oppressed across the galaxy. He’s even picked up some powerful and powefully odd allies (sad cyborg 803, strong serpent-tressed Iqa, and MERCENARY SPACE PANDA Pik Rollo). But even they might not be enough to stop what’s coming. A fearsome new foe has set sights on Agents of the Cosmos, so it looks like Venom’s training is about to get INTENSIVE.
ROB: This has been the most surprising title I’ve picked up post Secret Wars. Flash has been a great character and his supporting cast is becoming more interesting with each new addition. Now with what looks to be a nemesis coming, this should be fun.
