I’ve been a fan of Frank Howarth for several months now, right after I discovered his wonderful bowl carving videos on YouTube. Yesterday, for Star Wars Day, Frank surprised all of us with his take on the Death Star.

I love Frank’s ability to combine animation and effects with the craft of woodworking. In other videos he has a bit more description of what he is doing and why, but I think for the final reveal, keeping the talk out of the piece worked well.
