Though I really enjoyed the Netflix ‘Jessica Jones’ series, I was very upset by one creative decision: The casting of a blonde Rachel Taylor as famously red-haired Patsy Walker, known to some as the happy-go-lucky Hellcat. When I was a young’n, Hellcat was my one of my fave-raves, cementing my admiration of red-haired ladies who are also able to swing on a steel whip-line across the skies of New York City. Sometime later, I became aware of the existence of Dark Phoenix, but then, every teenager has their dalliance with darkness, leading to today’s recessively chromosomal query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would also make a strong case for Starfox, but doesn’t have the energy to try to counter the Innernets’ snark, asking: Who is your favorite redhead in all of fiction?

There are many that have been around longer, but Mara Jade is just pure quick ass.
Willow Rosenberg. Massive crush.
Feel free to completely judge me for this one.. But one of the biggest crushes of my youth was Misty from the original run of Pokemon. Maybe that’s the i tend to date bossy people that aren’t afraid to smack me on the head when I’m being dumb
You nailed it Matthew with Patsy. I too was disappointed with the choice in Jessica Jones even though the actress was great. I’m hoping that if they decide to turn her into Hellcat they’ll go with a wig of some sort ala Batwoman.
My favorite fictional redhead is still Ariel, the Little Mermaid. :)
To me, it always goes back to Barbara Gordon, whether she’s Batgirl or Oracle. Scarlet of G.I. Joe is a close second though.
If dye jobs count then Rachel Leighton aka Diamondback.
I’ve gotta go with my first redhead crush April O’Neil from teenage mutant ninja turtles.
