It’s a time-tested adage of the innernets: Everybody has their opinion on who makes the best Batman, with choruses of ‘Kevin Conroy!”, “Christian Bale!” and “Adam West!” and nine guys interjecting with “Val Kilmer!”  With all this discussion of the Dark Knight, there is sometimes no spotlight left over for his partner, the Teen Wonder himself, best known for being played by a 22-year-old man.  It’s a shame, since there are considerably MORE Robins to choose from (at least six in the comics, as well as weirdo one-offs like ‘Robin 3000’) than there are iterations of the big bad Bat, and leading us to today’s “Ashley just shouted ‘Tim Drake!’ somewhere in California” query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) still has a deep affection for the ‘Teen Titans’ version as voiced by Scott Menville, just not enough to watch more than a couple minutes of ‘Teen Titans Go!’, asking: Which Robin is the Best Robin of them all?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture!

And a nice red uniform.

I’m equally a fan of the first Batman: The Animated Series Robin as well as the first animated Young Justice Robin, both being Dick Grayson.
