When I first saw the fantastic work Veronica Fish was doing on her first run of Archie, I was hoping she would be rotated in again. Looks like my wish as been granted as Archie Comics announced Fish will be the regular artist on Archie with writer Mark Waid.

“I’m very excited. It’s a dream job!” said Fish. “And like all dream jobs comes responsibilities. Even though I do feel quite a bit of pressure I’m trying to focus on how much fun it is.”

There definitely is pressure. A person on Twitter mentioned that he wondered who was buying any Archie Comics because they were so out of date. That person, Dear Reader, hasn’t been reading Archie by Waid and Fish, hasn’t been reading Afterlife with Archie, or Jughead, or The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, or Archie vs. Predator, or any of the other treats coming from the publisher. Adding Veronica Fish as the artist on Archie is a great addition.

Archie Comics #6 arrives in stores on February 17th. If you haven’t read Archie in years, next week is the best time to change that!
