The first draft of The Chronicles of Narnia: the Silver Chair has reportedly been completed since last June according to David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi), and his private twitter account. Not much has been announced regarding the fourth installation in the Chronicles of Narnia film franchise since then.

Today the film’s producer Mark Gordon came out announcing that the Chronicles of Narnia franchise is not only alive and well, but about to get a facelift.

“We’re hoping to be able to make the movie very shortly. We’re very excited about it.

No, it’s all going to be a brand new franchise. All original. All original characters, different directors, and an entire new team that this is coming from.”

Fans of the Narnia books will know that The Silver Chair deals with entirely separate characters from the Pevensie children – although they do make appearances as adults toward the end of the novel – so, these comments coming from Gordon should not be wholly surprising.

Who is looking forward to seeing more Chronicles of Narnia on the big screen? Do you think focusing on a different stet of characters is the right idea? Let us know all your Narnia thoughts below!
