Diamond Comic Distributors has announced it has moved the company’s Plattsburgh, NY distribution center to a new location to process more products. The distributor also opened a new center in Mississippi that should keep comics flowing to your store.
Diamond’s New Memphis Distribution Center, which is solely dedicated to processing weekly shipments for Olive Branch customers, is a new, separate 75,000 square foot facility. The current Olive Branch Distribution Center – previously 600,000 square feet – has also grown with an additional 100,000 square feet of storage off-site. The two changes combined will allow Diamond to build additional infrastructure at its Olive Branch location, the backlist inventory hub for all of Diamond’s 40,000+ in-stock products.
“After months of planning and hard work on the part of our Operations and Distribution Center staffs, both new facilities are up and running without any interruption in weekly shipments to retailers,” said Diamond Vice President of Operations John Wurzer in a prepared statement. ”In addition to giving us additional space to stock more products in greater depth, we’ve implemented several innovations that will enable us to process the over-2-million units in our customer’s weekly shipments more accurately and efficiently than ever.”
Diamond’s new Plattsburgh distribution center doubled it size to 108,000 square feet.
