While you can role-play in your favorite Dungeons and Dragons world, but Wizards of the Coast and Gale Force Nine have announced Tyrants of the Underdark board game that puts you in the middle of the Forgotten Realms universe.

Announced in the latest Dragon+ digital magazine, Tyrants of the Underdark let’s you play the bad guys as you take control of a house of drow.

This deck-building game draws from a number of Dungeons and Dragons story seasons, using cards and figures of dragons from Tyranny of Dragons, elementals from the Prince of the Apocalypse, and the demon lords from Rage of Demons.  Tyrants of the Underdark is a territory control game with a deck building element, created by the D&D team at Wizards of the Coast in collaboration with Gale Force Nine. Each player leads a house of drow in a section of the Underdark that is specifically below the Sword Coast.

Without seeing the game, it kind of sounds a lot like Lords of Waterdeep, which is actually quite fun to play.

Tyrants of the Underdark is for 2-4 players and takes about an hour to play. The game is scheduled to arrive in the Spring of 2016 and has a MSRP of $69.99.
