Last night during Jimmy Kimmel Live, the first full trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuted, and oh boy, oh boy!
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, joined by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman.

HOLY SHIT! DOOMSDAY!?!?
I’ll be honest until the last half of the trailer, I was in snoozeville, but DOOMSDAY!? I’m in.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open worldwide on March 25, 2016.

HO-LY. SHIT. I loved everything about this trailer which is such a relief. I have to admit my expectations up to this point were not very high but everything has changed. The sun is shining brighter, the birds are chirping louder, and my entire day just got better.
Can not wait.
Now that I’ve seen this trailer and it blew me away, I don’t plan on watching any other trailers for Batman V Superman.
Also is it safe to say that the guy who had the fan theory that Ben Affleck was really playing Slade Wilson dressed up as Batman (or whatever his insane theory was) was way off?
This was awesome!
All my fears regarding Affleck are gone. Now I’m a little annoyed by Jesse Eisemberg’s acting choices, but I hope that is just the trailer.
The action looks fantastic and that take with the Trinity… I love it!!
I didn’t expect to see Doomsday, but it looks cool. And are those parademons there? Is Darkseid coming?
Funny, I had the opposite response. Up until the last 40 seconds, I was really intrigued. thinking this was going to be about the characters and how their personal development lead them into a situation of conflict, which, IMHO, is exactly what the source material (DKR) was all about, only to be resolved in the end with a threat they could only surpass as a team. However with the arrival of a Doomsday like character. It turned into a typical hollywood story of “Lets make it really big and flashy and throw the baddest of the bad bad guy onto to fight the heroes.”
The whole point of Doomsday was to be Superman’s end, and while, Yes, he came back (He IS Superman, he does that), it was supposed to be the ultimate conflict that cost the hero everything to defeat. There are probably a hundred different villains they could pick that would draw together the combined forces of the three greatest heroes of the DC universe. Using Doomsday seems like a crutch to me.
I really liked Man of Steel, because it actually told a story of a developing hero. Superman was like a guy who spent his whole life trying to master his ability to drive a car, suddenly tossed into the Indianapolis 500, and expected to win…He didn’t know the rules, just that he had to cross the finish line first, so he didn’t weigh the consequences. Batman V Superman had the potential to had the elder statesman Character show up to help him understand what the rules are to being a Hero. If they need a Villain to bring them together in the end, to unite them into a single cause, why bet the farm on the one character that id designed to be the ultimate end to the aspiring hero. Parasite, Mongul. Metallo, any other Superman Villain would suffice.
I was very much looking forward to this… Now I am worried it will be Michael Bay’s Transformers all over again…
I was totally put off by this trailer. I am uninterested. The acting seemed really poor, the dialogue forced. The worst part is… they GAVE AWAY THE ENTIRE MOVIE. I feel no particular need to see this anymore.
Funny, I feel that way about Civil War after seeing their trailer.
I agree. I think I am on super hero overload at this point though.
What was up with Joker-Luthor?
That was a completely new direction for Luthor from the corrupt corporate executive/scientist that we’ve seen him characterized as in the last 25 years.
Do you think he will steal cakes?
Doomsday sucks…but I was genuinely worried his role in the story would be beating the piss out of Wonder Woman until Superman and Batman put aside their dick-measuring contest to team up.
That does not appear to be the case, so there’s that.
My big takeaway from this is Superman and Batman are going to fight because they’re…….dumb. Very dumb and childish.
Which has increased my hope Wonder Woman, even if she only shows up for the end of the movie, turns out to be the voice of reason who gets them to stop being idiots.
Yeah, frankly, Wonder Woman’s appearance is the only thing about this movie I have any interest in.
I pretty much had the exact same thing from the trailer, except that Doomsday sucks. It’s not because I like him, I just don’t know enough about the DC Universe to have an opinion. I do agree with the rest of your take because Wonder Woman gives me some hope. I hope she’s portrayed as an equal and not a sidekick. So far so good.
Feeling mostly positive about this, but so far I’m really not buying manic-pixie Zuckerberg as Lex.
I honestly dont know what to think. From what I can tell, it doesnt seem as bleak and depressing as early material would suggest. On the other hand, Luthor is a complete joke. I also dont think anyone wanting to see only Wonder Woman has anything to worry about, it seems a lot like Batman and Superman have been reduced to petty, childish idiots for Wonder Woman to really shine. I got nothing against WW, but this looks like pandering.
Man the trailer was awesome but, boy it made me angry: It spoils the end of the so hyped fight and shows the villain. Ok, most people already guessed it was Doomsday, but… C’mon… You didn’t had to show it…
I hope this won’t be one of those film in which the trailer contains the good bits of the film…
There’s a typo in the title, you wrote “kick” where it should read “kiss”
Seriously it looks like the world’s most expensive 5 year old’s fanfic…
WOW another DARK movie, lucky they had SPFX to lighten it up.
