It has been 75 years since Dick Grayson first burst onto the scene. In that time, there have been something like ten Robins (more if you count alternate realities and future vision), each with their own version of the red, green and gold uniform. Thanks to yesterday’s review of ‘We Are Robin’, featuring six different variations on the Boy Wonder’s garb, I’ve been assessing and arguing about which works the best, which leads us to today’s bare-legged-and-you’d-better-learn-to-deal-with-it query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is torn between Tim Drake’s original ninja-style costume and Dick Grayson’s seldom-used wing-cape costume as seen once or twice in JLA, asking: Which costume comes first in your personal Robin rankings?

The Earth-Two Pre-Crisis Justice Society of America spin-off team The Super Squad (thanks, DC!) Dick Grayson/Robin costume. (So not the one with the R on batwings, but the red and green one with the yellow cape). Don’t know why, it just works for me!
Followed by the aforementioned Tim Drake’s ninja-esque costume (pre-Infinite Crisis, ie. red and green), complete with collapsible whistling bo staff.
Although I grew up with the classic short shorts Robin costume, it is the red and black DCAU incarnation of Tim Drake’s costume that pops up first when I think of Robin. While I think the classic Robin colors are fitting for the name, the red and black costume just looks a lot better to me.
Not my favorite Robin, but best costume is the new Damian Wayne one with black parts in legs and sleeves and hooded cape.
