In these days of streaming media, one doesn’t have to wait for one’s favorite film to show up on HBO or (perish forbid) TBS like we did when I was a kid. These days, you can find most any seldom seen movie you would ever want to watch, as long as you know whether it’s on Netflix, Hulu, or iTunes, but there are still films that can be elusive. Last night, I caught a showing of ‘Midnight Cowboy’ on cable, reminding me of how long it’s been since I encountered it (Still holds up, by the way), and reminding me of how long I’ve gone between viewings of other favorites, like ‘Heathers’ and ‘Night Of The Living Dead’, leading us to today’s cinematic-but-elusive query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is always happy when ‘The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen’ pops up in my TV listings, asking: Which seldom seen movie or TV program of times past do you most wish you could see more often?

Brisco County for TV and Buckaroo Bonzai for movie
The original Star Wars trilogy. Not the Special Edition, not the remastered edition, but the unaltered original trilogy as we saw it in the late 70s, 80s and 90s. I actually enjoy some of the edits of the Special editions, like adding the windows in Cloud City, but sometimes I just want to watch the movies the way they were when I was growing up.
I also miss TV shows like Alien Nation, Highlander: The Series, Farscape and several others being aired as a marathon on Syfy or at like 3AM Saturday or Sunday on local channels.
I want to watch more of the old Mission Impossible series. My mom always talked about how much she loved the show.
