Seth Rogen took to Twitter to announce the “air date” for the upcoming television adaptation of Vertigo’s Preacher, but it might not air when everything thinks.
Preacher is coming to AMC! @evandgoldberg @SamCatlin123! The beginning is nigh!!! pic.twitter.com/xVgqYrkEK9

Rogen originally posted that Preacher would air in May 2016, but quickly changed his original post and shared the amended message:
*may not air in May… But sometime in 2016.

And that message was quickly taken down as well.
AMC probably didn’t want the exact month to be announced just yet – quite possibly to tie it into an announcement of some of their other returning shows, like Better Call Saul.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are producing the series for AMC, based on the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon series. Dominic Cooper stars as Jessie Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip O’Hare, Joe Gilgun as Casity (an Irish Vampire), and Ian Colletti as Arseface, among others already scheduled to appear in the series.
