Last night during the VMAs you could watch Miley shock parental oversight agencies, learn who our new president will be in 2020, and catch the trailer for The Shannara Chronicles.

The Shnnara Chronicles are based on the best selling series from Terry Brooks, and from the reaction online, people are so ready for this series to finally see the light of day on television.

“The Shannara Chronicles” is set thousands of years after the destruction of our civilization, the story follows an Elven Princess, Amberle, a half-human half-elf, Wil, and a human, Eretria, as they embark on a quest to stop a Demon army from destroying the Four Lands.

The Shannara Chronicles debuts on MTV in January 2016.

    As someone whose first novel was from this series, and whose favorite novel in the series is the one this show is being based on (Elfstones), I can’t decide how I feel about this.

    They went far more into the far-flung post-apocalyptic aesthetic than I was expecting, and some of the visuals from this trailer make little sense to me (even knowing as much as I do about it all), but I’ll be damned if I’m not excited for this.
