Press Release
He’s the veteran copper with a mouth like a sewer and a mind like a trap but when it comes to protecting the uneasy peace between England and Hell, even Inspector Harry Absalom is going to have his hands full.
The new series of Gordon Rennie and Tiernen Trevallian’s The-Sweeney-meets-The-X-Files series, Absalom, debuts in this Wednesday’s 2000 AD.
Under A False Flag is the latest case for the man who heads a special squad that enforces The Accord – a diplomatic treaty made in the 16th Century between the throne of England and Hell. If any demonic entities step out of line, Harry and his team will track the infernal offenders down and sort them out for good.
2000 AD Prog 1934 is out from all newsagents and comic book shops in the UK & Ireland this Wednesday (10th June), as well as DRM-free digitally through the 2000 AD webshop and apps. It will be available from all good comic book stores in North America from 10th July.
A miserable old bastard with a knack for finding trouble, Harry was the perfect man for the job – but years of strife are starting to catch up with him and while suffering from an inoperable cancer, he must now investigate a series of murders where the victims have been reduced to ash.
With trademark bravado, this is another classic 2000 AD take on an old staple – an brash, old school policeman policing a London brimming with demons, but where the greatest threats come from the most unlikely of places. Trevallian’s linework and greytones bring modern Britain’s city’s dark, seedy underbelly to life while also merging it with backgrounds packed with arcane symbolism and frightening escapees from beyond the veil of this world.
Harry’s previous adventures have been brought together in the Absalom: Ghosts Of London collection, still available from all good book and comic book shops in the UK & Ireland, as well as DRM-free digitally through the 2000 AD webshop and apps.
