This week, it is up to the players to get their history correct as they play the game, Timeline.
Timeline Historical Events Card Game
JFK’s assassination, the 1st step on the moon, the last crusade. Can you put all these events correctly on the timeline? With Timeline, learn the answer to this question and thousands more. Each card has a different historical event and on the opposite side its associated date. To begin, one card is randomly selected from the draw pile. This is placed in the middle of the table, date-side up and is the starting point of a chronological line which will slowly be built by players. The first player then chooses one of their cards and places it before or after the initial card. The player’s card is then turned date-side up. If the player was right, it remains on the table. Otherwise, the card is discarded and a new one must be drawn to replace it. The more cards which are correctly played, the harder it is to correctly place new ones. The first player to get rid of their cards wins.

Fun to listen to, even if everyone wasn’t too into it. Surprisingly a game that works very well with only audio. I like the game but tend to treat it a bit more as an activity, it’s nice that you can mix and match sets to be as specific or general as you want. Like it says in the rules, it also works to give players with an edge more starting cards, especially with widely varying ages. Easy to come up with some rules to make it more of a game, like having a certain amount of card swaps for example, but not sure if it’s worth it.
Might have had a bit more fun with Cardline; Marvel or Dinosaurs maybe, probably be a lot of arguing and criticizing the stats, which would most likely be awesome.
