Yesterday, director David Ayer released the first photo of Task Force X in their full costume. Though it is a small image, it did get a lot of people talking about the look for each character. Today, we have a really good look at Margo Robbie in her costume from a different angle.

Writer Jimmy Palmiotti shared this photo last night, which shows a number of tattoos on Harley Quinn’s legs.

A couple of people have questioned the colors used in the costumes. The signature red and black colors are present in the costume, but for a screen ready look, changing the colors will help set her off from the other characters and surroundings. Like we saw with Grant Gustin’s costume in The Flash, what looks too dark or off color in behind the scenes photos, looks great on the small screen.

I know Harley has always had a tight fitting type outfit – but why did they have to make her look like a freaky hooker? it looks more like somebody cosplaying slutty Harley than actual Harley…

While I don’t exactly mind the costume (sorry, I’m a dirty old woman), I wish they had gone a little differently, like tight pants (as in actual full length pants, like spandex or leather or something) or even cutoff jean shorts rather than hotpants.

To be honest, I cant criticize this too much because Im a guy and I like Harley. I also think that this kind of costume can be problematic but its pretty much how shes been looking in comics and video games for several years now. I do like original red a& black better but I also see why it wont work in live action film.

I guess for me, I’ve hated the updated looks of Harley for years, and was hoping that in this day and age, they would go with a bit more non slutty – women are just so overly sexualized so frequently I was hoping for a tiny bit of restraint, at least…instead they went with full hooker. I would say if they had done the arkham asylum version with a slightly longer skirt than in the game and those big stomping boots – that I could get in to. Or maybe some spandex with the cleavage and some boots…

Nobody wants her ugly but this is just…man…she looks like a lady gaga music video reject…

As a father with a 14 year old daughter that is a big fan of Harley Quinn, I’d have liked to see her sexuality toned down a bit more too. I’m hoping that the female characters in this movie are pot rayed as equals to the men, and not sidekicks or afterthoughts.

Doesn’t she lead the Suicide Squad, or am I mistaken? The movie will probably have the dark gritty filter like Batman and Superman, that seems to be where DC is going.
