Fanboy fave, Olivia Munn has been cast in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie as Psylocke. How’s that for a Monday Morning Shocker?
Word came via Bryan Singer’s Instagram page, and then quickly reposted by Munn.

I can dig it!
Are they going to make her look Japanese? She is supposed to be in possession of a Japanese assassin’s body.
Are they going to make her look like she can fight?
I just don’t care who they cast in X-Men films. I should… but I don’t. It may be because the X-Men aren’t really MY superhero team. I trust Brian Singer to choose great actors but I don’t trust the X franchise to be anything other than background movies for me anymore.
X-Men are totally my superhero team, but I still dont care. Theres been so many of these films that I already know exactly what to expect. They have been okay, but now, with more than a few better choices to see, my reaction is unfortunately indifferent “meh”.
At the same time Im really in love with Daredevil and based on that show, really hyped about Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. Avengers and 12345 other Marvel movies will be great, too Im sure, but its nothing I’ve not seen before either.
Personally I wish they would wipe the slate clean and start from the very beginning. I don’t mean how the slate was wiped clean in the recent movie, I mean start completely over with an all-new, all-different film franchise unrelated to the previous movies (like how they rebooted Spider-Man or are about to reboot Fantastic Four).
That said, I have nothing against this particular casting choice. I’m not thrilled with it, but I’m not against it either.
