ComiXology recently held a huge Marvel comics sale through its digital comics service. The two for one deal allowed fans to buy anything they wanted, and what readers wanted was female super heroes!

The top ten comics sold is very interesting, with Silk #1 topping the charts.

2. Star Wars #2
3. Darth Vader #1
4. Star Wars #1
5. Ms. Marvel #12
6. Ms. Marvel #11
7. Ms. Marvel #10
8. Thor #5
9. Ms. Marvel #9
10 Thor #4

Out of thousands of Marvel comics sold over the course of the Marvel BOGO Sale, 7 of the top 10 issues starred a Marvel female Super Hero proving that the Women of Marvel are here to stay!

While it is interesting to see the first issue of Silk take the top spot, the fact that Ms. Marvel had four issues in that list is even more impressive. This bodes well for the upcoming Ms. Marvel movie, and hopefully this sales information (which is rare in the digital comics distribution community) shows that readers really want to see well written and strong female leads in comics.

Still crazy to see that “Silk” beat Star Wars. TV writer star power?
