Zach on Film wraps up its regular run with a discussion of 12 Years a Slave.
12 YEARS A SLAVE
12 Years a Slave is a 2013 historical drama film and an adaptation of the 1853 slave narrative memoir Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free African-American man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C., in 1841 and sold into slavery. Northup worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for twelve years before his release. The first scholarly edition of Northup’s memoir, co-edited in 1968 by Sue Eakin and Joseph Logsdon, carefully retraced and validated the account and concluded it to be accurate.[4] Other characters in the film were also real people, including Edwin and Mary Epps, and Patsey.

Long live the jackhammer, looking forward to ZOF v 2!
This has really been a long and crazy ride, and I’ve loved every second of it.
I have listened to all episodes multiple times and watched most of the movies with you guys.
Zach on film (or ZOF, as the young people call it) was instantly on my top five podcasts and have stayed there since the beginning.
Im a film/movie enthusiast who have worked both on films and in a movie theater but I have learned so much from you guys, and I appriciate film now even more than I did before.
Thank you.
PS. It would be cool to see a female cohost or two in the ZOF vol2.
I’m so glad that you have enjoyed and learned from the podcast, Andreas! Thanks for the support throughout the existence of the show!
And I agree about the female co-host. I’ll be trying to mixup who is on the show in the new format. Ashley V. Robinson was on one of the pilot podcasts and she was super fun to talk with!
