It’s been rumored for a while now, and now it is finally happening – LEGO is bringing LEGO fans a SHIELD Helicarrier.

The announcement came via the LEGO Twitter feed, letting everyone know the set arrives in March of this year.

No word on price yet, but from the images, we know it is a massive set with 2,996 pieces, and if it is anywhere close to Minifigure scale, this is going to be huge.

Here’s the official breakdown of the set:

I figured this was going to be expensive, and at nearly $350, only the diehard fans are going to grab this one. The other item fans should take note of is that there are Minifigures that aren’t to scale with the set, but there are Microfigures that do fit inside the Helicarrier.

  1. I saw this on LEGO ideas (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63951), awesome that we’re going to see it on store shelves. Still, the thing is massive when I first saw it and it’s even harder to fathom the actual size now that’s it’s official. $400 though? I might love to collect toys and have spent that and more at conventions but I’ll pass.

    • The pricetag is why I’m going to wait until someone posts the building instructions online and just try to recreate it with the LEGOs I have. It might not be 100% accurate, but I bet I can get fairly close (I had a bunch of those space themed sets as a kid that look like they could be close to some of the parts of this set).
