ROB: After Parker’s first adventure post-return, I’m looking forward to where we get to go from here. While I was hoping to get into the Spider-Verse story line, getting a chance to see the young Ms. Marvel is easily as entertaining.

Too bad Robo’s nuclear fuel is running dry.
ROB: Robo in the past has been just as fun as the past Robo stories, which is to say, awesome. Nothing beats just how well done this series always is.
STEPHEN: Damn, I do love me som Atomic Robo. Can’t miss a single issue, even if I tried.
BATGIRL #35
Writer: Brenden Fletcher and Cameron Stewart
Artist: Babs Tarr
Publisher: DC COMICS
Cover Price: $2.99
SOLICITATION: “Barbara Gordon is no stranger to dusting herself off when disaster strikes.”
ASHLEY: I just need this book to be good. For my money, Batgirl hasn’t had an awesome solo title in a long, long time. If this new creative team can breathe fresh life into Barbara Gordon (one of my favourite comic characters), than this will easily become one of my favourite books on the shelf.
STEPHEN: Look, if you haven’t listened to Dueling Reviews, and hear Matthew and I gush on about Gotham Academy and our hopes and dreams about the new Batgirl, then maybe you listened to Ashley and I on the most recent Finally Friday where we gushed on what could be the best book of the month. Yes, ladies and gentlemen Batgirl #35 is THE book to get.
WAYNE: Many of us here at MajorSpoilers are excited about this book because it looks like a fun, enjoyable read featuring a popular character getting a great update! I’ve always enjoyed Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, so to see her get this kind of “star” treatment is very gratifying. I’ll be anxious to see how she does in the “real” world!

WAYNE: Yeah, the price will likely be higher than it has in the past, but for me, it’ll be well worth it! With these folks involved, I’m expecting a high-power story that I simply cannot miss!
BLACKSAD AMARILLO HC
Writer: Juan D. Canales
Artist: Juanjo Guarnido

But before long, the car is stolen and Blacksad finds himself mixed up in another murder, with roughneck bikers, a shifty lawyer, one down-and-out Beat generation writer, and some sinister circus folk! When John Blacksad goes on the road, trouble is dead ahead!”
ASHLEY: I love Blacksad! The book are gorgeous and hard-hitting noir stories presented in a whimsical style that you only get from European comics. I’m interested in seeing the Blacksad story set against an American backdrop.
STEPHEN: Here’s what you need to know about Blacksad – It’s awesome crime noir with animals, but not kiddie animals, as this is definitely for mature readers. Great art, great story, this is a must buy!

ROB: Hawkeye and Deadpool ended up being the best pairing in the A+X series, and then we had an issue of them teaming up awhile ago that I somehow missed. Well, not this time, Hawkeye is the only Avenger I can see putting up with Deadpool long enough to get the job done, and i want to see what that job is.

GEORGE: There may be better comics on the stands, but there isn’t one more fun than Transformers VS G.I. Joe. It captures that anything goes feel of playing in the sandbox with all your favorite toys, plus innovative art. Also, poor Wheeljack.
WAR STORIES #1
Writer: Garth Ennis
Artist: Matt Martin
Publisher: Avatar Press
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Garth Ennis’ War Stories find a new home at Avatar with the launch of this ongoing monthly! Pulling tales from real conflicts throughout modern history, this series is where a master storyteller brings the horrors of war to life in comics. Ennis travels the timeline to pull some of the most harrowing tales of valor and bloodshed from history’s most violent battles with his trademark wit and spot-on dialogue to show the humanity within the inhuman horrors. The first story is Castles in the Sky, a tale of early bomber pilots and their incredibly difficult missions.
GEORGE: Garth Ennis’s best work has been his War Stories series, so I’m excited we’re getting some new entries. Hardboiled, sometimes insightful, always entertaining, War Stories is a must-read for all history buffs.
WYTCHES #1
Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Jock
Publisher: Image Comics
Cover Price: $2.99
SOLICITATION: Across the globe, century after century, men and women were burned, drowned, hanged, tortured, imprisoned, persecuted, and murdered for witchcraft. None of them were witches. They died protecting a terrible and hidden truth: witches, real witches, are out there. They are ancient, elusive, and deadly creatures that are rarely seen and even more rarely survived. This October, superstar creators SCOTT SNYDER (SEVERED, Batman) and JOCK (SNAPSHOT, Batman) unveil WYTCHES, and introduce you to a world of unimaginable horror in a special EXTRA-SIZED FIRST ISSUE with 30 pages of story and no ads for just $2.99
GEORGE: Scott Snyder and Jock are a match made in comics heaven. I’ve been hyped for this series since it was announced, and what better time for this to drop than the Halloween season? I also enjoy the solicitation contrasting this book with Snyder’s other big comic this week, which offers 30 pages for $4.99 (not Snyder’s fault, of course; shame on DC though).
