You’ve just watched the series premiere of The Flash on The Cw, and we want to know what you think!
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was just 11 years old when his mother was killed in a bizarre and terrifying incident and his father (John Wesley Shipp) was falsely convicted of the murder. With his life changed forever by the tragedy, Barry was taken in and raised by Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), the father of Barry’s best friend, Iris (Candice Patton). Now, Barry has become a brilliant, driven and endearingly geeky CSI investigator, whose determination to uncover the truth about his mother’s strange death leads him to follow up on every unexplained urban legend and scientific advancement that comes along. Barry’s latest obsession is a cutting edge particle accelerator, created by visionary physicist Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and his S.T.A.R. Labs team members, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who claim that this invention will bring about unimaginable advancements in power and medicine. However, something goes horribly wrong during the public unveiling, and when the devastating explosion causes a freak storm, many lives are lost and Barry is struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, Barry awakens to find his life has changed once again – the accident has given him the power of super speed. Thrilled with his new powers, Barry learns how to control them with the help of Dr. Wells and his team. However, keeping his secret from his best friend Iris (Candice Patton) is proving to be harder than he thought, especially when Joe’s new partner, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett), catches her eye. When another meta-human attacks the city, it’s time to put Barry’s new powers, and himself, to the test. David Nutter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kresiberg and Geoff Johns and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns.

What’d I think? No idea! Haven’t pirated it yet!
(Hey, The CW, I’d pay for it if getting these shows in Australia wasn’t so much of a goddamn headache… That goes double for Supernatural…)
Loved it! Great set up for many a storylines, especially that last scene. It has just the right amount of cheese and heart that I would expect from a story about Barry Allen. I can’t wait to see where they take this season considering the season trailer showed off more than a couple of the Rogues.
Excellent beginning, cant wait for the Arrow crossover!
It was incredible!!! It has the potential of being one of the best superhero TV show ever produced.
A great job!Setting us up for Grodd,Reverse Flash and a Crisis! It’s too bad they killed off the Weather Wizard so quickly.
That wasn’t the Weather Wizard. In the comic it was actually his brother (Mark; the one still presumed dead) not Clyde, that becomes the Weather Wizard.
Just saw it. Certainly has potential to be really good, I’m quite excited to see more.
I liked it. I thought the acting was a bit off in the beginning but I had fun watching this show. I hope they keep the comedy. I thought the Harrison Wells thing at the end was interesting being someone from the future or at least access to the future but I do not like the “End of the Show secret reveal”. It would annoy a lot of people if they kept doing that every show. It’s one of the reasons why we don’t watch SHIELD anymore.
I just finished watching it and really this is good. Given all the well its just a pilot talk from the Gothem premier I am happy to say that the pilot here is great for a pilot and I can only hope that that means that the show will stay solid like this was.
I really liked the well I will run over and see Arrow bit where he is not sure what to do. I really hope they don’t over use that though, both these shows should keep up on their own.
Also I really hope they do Grodd because like Rocket Racoon I just want to see a world where they put something that crazy on a primetime TV slot.
Between the Grodd hints in a couple of the teasers (like “Grodd Lives” on the poster from a month or so ago) and the appearance of the busted cage at STAR Labs that had Grodd clearly on a nameplate, I think they are certainly setting up that Grodd is going to appear.
The premier was better than I had hoped, and set up the story nicely. I actually liked it much, much more than I liked Arrow. It isn’t that I didn’t like Arrow exactly, but it did take me some time to warm up to it. With The Flash, however, I seemed to enjoy myself right from the start.
Loved it! One of my favorite DC characters, so I am beyond excited about this show. Hope it lives up to my expectations.
