Have you seen the Guardian project that the NHL and Stan Lee did a couple years ago? And everyone hates the Flyers, even Flyers fans hate them :)

      Wow, that’s crazy!

I was not aware of this project. I only got into hockey in the ’11-12 season when my RWJ had me watching the NHL Network 40 hours a week. No wonder it got flushed down the memory hole.

Sounds like the project was ill conceived and a very expensive and somewhat embarrassing failure. Unfortunately the original Guardians site seems to be gone…was hoping to learn a bit more about the characters and backstory.

I guess what works for a whimsical 5 minute podcast, doesn’t work as a multi-million dollar multimedia extravaganza!

Thanks for pointing this out. There is nothing more fascinating than an expensive, tone-deaf corporate failure!

You’re better off not having suffered through it, trust me! It was not well received at all by hockey fans, everything they did around it generated groans and incredible expense. They were going to spin off a tv show and maybe a movie. So it’s good it flopped in their faces.
