What if you didn’t qualify to run a giant robot warrior? Would you still be interested in helping behind the scenes?

That’s the premise for the new book from cosmictimes.net, Giant Robot Warrior Maintenance Crew, and this week, I chat with artist Mervyn McKoy about the three-issue miniseries. The first installment hit local shops the end of August, and the second issue will be arriving soon, so don’t miss it!

Here’s the book’s description: “Erica Pratch always wanted to pilot a giant robot, but when she received her rejection notice, she opted for the next best thing – working inside of one as part of the maintenance crew. Now along with an eclectic crew of mechanics and misfits she saves the galaxy every day by making sure that, despite the efforts of the inept pilots and an infestation of space parasites, Herotron makes it home from every mission in one piece. “

We also talk about Mervyn’s other fun series, The C-Listers, which is described this way: “The C-Listers is a series chronicling the trials and tribulations of a trio of super-powered allies and their dysfunctional relationships with those around them. They possess the power and the means, but unfortunately lack the wisdom and temperance to ‘actually’ help anyone. These guys are supported by a rich cast of characters that help to ground, and or clean up the constant messes they’re responsible for.” You can buy this fun series at comixology.com!

Next week, there’ll be yet another fun chat with a great comics creator as we count down to episode #150!
