Diamond Comic Distributors released the top ten comics sold in the direct market for July 2014, and anything having to do with Batman, Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy were big sellers.

In its monthly release, Diamond lists Rocket Raccoon #1 as the best selling comic for the month, just beating Batman #33 from DC Comics.

With six titles in the top ten, it should come as no surprise that Marvel dominated sales, bringing in 38.39% of the unit market share, compared to DC Entertainment’s 31.32%.

This may or may not come as a surprise, as Marvel, who released 93 comics, generally has a higher price per issue than DC Comics, which shipped 97 issues in July, though Rocket Raccoon selling 300,000 comics probably had something to do with the company’s success.
