Steven Universe #1
Writer(s): Jeremy Sorese
Artist(s): Coleman Engle
WHY WE LOVE IT: STEVEN UNIVERSE™ is a show that captured our hearts almost immediately. We’ve been fans of Rebecca Sugar’s from her work on ADVENTURE TIME for years and as the first lady to run her own show at Cartoon Network, we couldn’t wait to collaborate with her!

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: A comic about a boy and his friends living in a small beach community, who just happens to have magical powers and fight monsters on the side?! Fans of ADVENTURE TIME and Sailor Moon are gonna dig this series presented in a zine-like format of mini-comics, recipes, games, and more!

WHAT IT’S ABOUT: Steven really wants to enter the annual Beach City Bike Race but everyone else is a little worried. Steven just makes the cut-off for age, which means the other bikers will be a lot older than him. Connie agrees to help Steven the old-fashioned way through good ol’ exercise but Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl have other plans…

  1. I just read the entire D&A run and I have some GotG minor corrections for you.
Annihilation: Main Villain was Annihilous. Galactus and Thanos were good guys, and Drax killed Thanos near the end, with one punch.
Annihilation Conquest: Main Villain was Ultron

    • The uniforms are Cree. They were conscripted from a Cree prison in Annihilation. Quill, Mantis, Love Bug, Rocket, Groot , and one more I can’t remember.
Groot talked like a British Lord back then, and was wonderful.

Groot got reduced down to a tiny thing in both Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest making sacrifice plays both times.

      • No I got that wrong. It all took place in Annihilation Conquest. They were fighting the Phalanx and Ultron. Man I wish those two events had more distinct names.

  2. Regarding Guardians, I think we didn’t get a lot of story from Gamora is because they are setting up a “daddy issues” sequel for the movie. We are going to deal with Thanos and the blue robot girl, and Quill’s dad (who I am begging, will be played by Nathan Fillion) and get their story as a movie, because if you just resolve everything there is nothing to expand on, and Marvel is dealing in 3 movies per franchise. God this movie es fun! And YES, do watch in 3D, it’s such a cool aspect to the movie.
