While Nick was busy taking down The Legend of Korra from its television programming schedule, the Nickelodeon booth was going up on the convention show floor.

For the first time, the network will hold an open call during the convention for original animated project ideas. Nick’s animation development team will be on-site from Thursday, July 24, to Saturday, July 26, with the goal of greenlighting a pitch for its global Animated Shorts Program, which is designed to identify and develop original comedy-driven content for kids.

There is a Legend of Korra panel taking place at the show, and the big topic will be the move of the series from the cable network to online distribution for the rest of the season.
