Marvel is moving Steve Rogers once again, and a new Captain America needs to step up?  But who will be the man behind the shield?

Steve Rogers is a frail, broken man. Drained of the Super Soldier serum by a fearsome new enemy, he can no longer wield the shield as Captain America. The mind willing, but the body unable – the Sentinel of Liberty must choose his successor. But who will carry the mantle?

“The choice he has before him as to who he’s going to select as his replacement seems very simple at this point – it’s a short list – but we’re revealing a number of characters in #23 who’ve been gone for a while, that decision gets a little trickier,” says Remender in an interview with Marvel.com.

  1. My money would be on Sam but they could throw us a curveball and give it to Black Widow or a returned Agent 13.

    • Right, the guy. The guy who did that thing with the girl, and who were part of the team, you know, the team that did that thing and then decided not to. right?

It should be The Hulk. I’d like to see The Hulk in a Captain America uniform. Or Peter Parker… or is he still dead? Or is it Cap who was dead? I seem to remember he got shot in the head. I guess since he is still around he must have got better.

  3. Eli Bradley should by rights become the new Cap, but no doubt they won’t do that.

Of course this will be a temporary thing. You can’t have Steve Rogers go out like that. Besides, we all know:

    The shield always returns.
