With Marvel showing off 17 minutes of Guardians of the Galaxy this evening, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the studio released an extended look at the film for those that couldn’t attend a special showing.

What Marvel is nailing with all trailers they have released for Guardians is that they are completely downplaying the villain who is threatening the galaxy because it utimately does not matter who is filling that role this time around. Guardians will, and rightly so, be about establishing more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introducing the public to this unknown property.

I for one can’t wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy, looks like it might be the most fun superhero movie that we have been given in a few years.

This looks like it might be fun. With an emphasis on the MIGHT. I am unfamiliar with the GotG in their comic book form, and am having trouble caring about this movie. I haven’t seen any of the Marvel movies in the theater since Iron Man 3 – but that’s more of a factor of the cost of going to the theater than for any other reason. I wonder, though, why Adam Warlock apparently isn’t in the movie since he (and Gamora) were the only two characters in the comic that I had heard of (or cared about). After seeing this extended trailer, I got an idea for a poster and slogan for Rocket Raccoon: “Rocket Raccoon – Only Slightly Less Annoying Than Jar Jar Binks! Coming Soon to a Theater Near You!”

I can’t wait to see this. Its the Guardians that i have liked since annihilation. Yes some differences but still like them, only missing my favorite (Nova).

The only thing I don’t like is that the big bad looks like he is suppose to be Ronan the Accuser, and well he wouldn’t want to destroy the galaxy.
