Over the weekend (WHY ON SUNDAY, DISNEY!?) Lucasfilm and Disney announced Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have been added to the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
Though we don’t know who the two actors will play in the movie, there are indications that a character named Rachel and another named Thomas were sought during an open casting call. Both parts were for 17-23 year olds.
“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent, and in casting ‘Episode VII,’ we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many traveled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Despite Harrison Ford’s injury Disney and Lucasfilm are committed to a December 18, 2015 release.
