The worlds of fiction are full of characters described as bad-ass, from Darth Vader all the way through Daenarys Targaryen (whose name contains far too many vowels and broke Spellcheck forever.) Of course, there are as many definitions of “badass” as there are consumers of pop-culture, and I’ll vehemently make the case that Jerry Mouse is a legendary figure whose toughness is equivalent to that of Wolverine in his own genre, and whether or not you’re a fan of Batman or not, you have to appreciate that he has his moments. Grudgingly. Through gritted teeth. All that aside, the question of who is the most metaphorically badass of all is in the eye of the beholder, which is why it’s time for your beholding to have eyes (or something), leading us to today’s implacable query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds you that “The name…
…is Dalton.”, asking: Who’s your favorite pop-culture badass and why are they numero uno?

I’ll come way out of left field out of this one and say Mark Sheppard from Battlestar Galactica. His lawyer came off as the sleaziest of the sleazy & the lowest of the low….and I loved every second of it. He is proof that cockroaches can survive a nuclear war. And the way he delivered it was awesome. Whether it is Doctor Who or Warehouse 13, whenever I see him show up, I get super excited because I know he will do an awesome job of being evil.
Paul Atreides (Usul) (Muad’Dib) as from the books and SciFi Movies. Now I still love the ’84 movie but these are a better badass version of him.
Trained by his mother to be what only women could be, an skill fighter and military leader. He goes from a young age form a ocean lush world to a desert world to become one of the most powerful being in the known universe. Because he who controls the spice controls the universe.
Oh and he rides big frigging Sandworms into battle. If that is not badass, nothing else is.
Eric Draven as played by Brandon Lee in ‘The Crow’. The scene where he trades knife throws with one of the bad guys is awesome. And of course breaking up the city gang’s meeting…
