Fantasy Flight is returning to a galaxy far, far away later this year as they have announced Star Wars: Empire vs Rebellion, a strategic card game.

In this two player card game, players will either control the Empire’s resources or the heroes of the Rebellion as each tries to tip the outcome of strategic battles in their favor. A large portion of the “strategy” element comes in the form of cards, conveniently called “Strategy Cards”, chosen before the game begins that determine how the player will go about winning the game.

With Star Wars: Empire vs Rebellion being a, seemingly, straight forward card game, it should be safe to assume this game won’t be like the rest of Fantasy Flight’s games and take hours to set up the thousands of pieces that are needed to play.

Look for Star Wars: Empire vs Rebellion in the third quarter of this year with a price tag of $12.95.
