Variety is reporting that actor Josh Brolin has been offered the role of Thanos in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.  Don’t act so surprised about this late casting, Thanos is a full CG character, so only voice work is really needed here.

Nothing official from Marvel as of this post, but like the Daredevil rumor turned reality story from earlier in the week, this one has merit and will more than likely be confirmed from Marvel Studios soon.  Brolin is no stranger to comic book properties, he played Jonah Hex in 2010.  If Brolin is indeed Thanos, expect to see him in Age of Ultron as well when it arrives in theaters in 2015.
