Ever since I threatened to do all the panels at Nerdtacular 2014 in a luchador mask, I’ve been considering how cool it might be to actually live la vida enmascarada, wearing my ceremonial mask at all times in public. Of course, I wouldn’t want to be any old John Q. Public, I’d want to be at the top of the heap as El Santo, if only he weren’t currently deceased. Now that I think of it, though, taking over anyone’s life would have such issues (though maybe not quite so terminal.) I wouldn’t mind singing like Neil Patrick Harris, but couldn’t handle his rigorous diet and schedule, and while I wouldn’t mind having my own talk show like Dr. Oz, I am not a carnivorous alien robot powered by tears. It’s a matter of balance and careful debate, which leads into today’s query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would be really torn between Nathan Fillion, El Santo and Gail Simone, for various reasons, asking: If you were able to magically step into the life of a REAL personage, who might you choose and why?

I would choose to magically step into my own life (say age 3) with all of the knowledge I have attained. Since someone else’s life may “appear” to be ideal, I would prefer to go through my life making different choices from being better informed. I would have taken better care of my comics and be retired with that knowledge alone.
Mine isn’t anyone in particular, just someone roughly my age with a decent credit score, similar education, self-sufficient and not drowning in debt. Too personal?
Some random cute Japanese pop star or model, solely so I’d have a chance to possibly be on the main cast of a series like Super Sentai or Kamen Rider.
Call me old fashion but Lou Ferrigno, seems like a humble guy. Plus he played the HULK!
John Malkovich of course
