Disney has announced the next set of Infinity figures for the gaming system, and the new 2.0 edition features Marvel super heroes.

The starter pack comes with Thor, Black Widow, Iron Man, and the crystal that unlocks the world. The starter pack will have a SRP of $75.00. Other characters (and there are a lot of them) will be released in two-packs and singles.

Though it hasn’t been stated exactly, expect to see a new hardware base to be required in order to use the new figures. Fortunately, Disney has stated that all Infinity 1.0 characters, Power Discs, and Toy Boxes will work on the new system. Disney plans to launch Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes later this year on the Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, mobile devices, and Xbox One, and Playstation 4.

Brian Michael Bendis is helping to write the story for the game update. During the announcement it was confirmed that Marvel Manhattan will be the setting and will be four times larger than The Incredibles setting. If you have played in The Incredibles environment, you know there are a lot of areas to explore, so this bit of news should make those eager for longer game play happier.
