After the massive success of The LEGO Movie, Warner Bros. made the announcement that a sequel will be created. While we only know a few people involved, a big slot was filled yesterday when Chris McKay was tapped to be the director.
McKay is a nice choice from Warner Bros. as he was an animation co-director on the first film. Previous credits to McKay’s name include television programs Robot Chicken and Titan Maximum.
It makes me happy that Warner Bros. seems to be trying to keep a majority of the people on for the second film, in some capacity, as previous directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be acting in producer roles.
While writers for the film have been announced, no plot details have been made known and I can’t imagine that we will learn any of those for some time since the film was just announced late last month.
